Longshuixia Fissure Gorge
Wulong Fissure is the second-largest group of tiankeng (sinkholes) in the world, a classic karst landscape. As the name suggests, it looks as though the earth has split open a deep crevice. The narrowest point at the bottom is just one metre wide and the widest is less than ten metres, while the rim sits more than 350 metres above the valley floor. A stream runs clear over the bottom of the gorge. The cliffs on either side look as if they were hewn by axe and chisel, and even at the brightest, sunlight rarely reaches the valley floor. Walking through it feels like exploring the depths of the earth, travelling through a tunnel of time. Main sights include Dragon Pool Moon Reflection, Sacred Elephant Splashing, and the Waterfall Curtain.
