Tips from the guidebook

  • Eating, staying and getting around in Manzhouli: 1. For safety, consider staying at one of the larger hotels in the city centre.
  • 2. Manzhouli is not very large. There is no need to take a taxi from the railway station to the city centre; it is a 15-minute walk.
  • 3. Manzhouli's streets are straight and crisscross in a grid pattern, and the markets are concentrated. However, pedestrians are very few at night, so remember the features of the roads you have walked.
  • 4. When eating in Manzhouli, always ask the price first. Manzhouli's Korean food is very authentic; at the very least, be sure to try the cold noodles.
  • Manzhouli National Border Gate Scenic Area: The national gate stands facing the Russian national gate across the border. Climbing the watchtower nearby gives you a view of Russian scenery on the other side. This city at the junction of three countries once witnessed the glorious history of the Communist Party, so the Red Tourism exhibition hall and the CPC Sixth National Congress Exhibition Hall are also worth a visit.
