About Harbin Ice and Snow World
The crowning achievement of Harbin's many ice and snow attractions, this is where many of the large ice lanterns and ice sculptures are created. Every Spring Festival holiday, the Ice and Snow World makes its dazzling debut, and it never fails to surprise visitors.
Tips from the guidebook
- 1. Ticket prices: The Ice and Snow World's main event takes place during the Spring Festival holiday, which is also when tickets are most expensive. As the weather warms day by day, ticket prices come down, though the quality of the ice sculptures also declines.
- 2. Best time to visit: The Ice and Snow World usually holds a trial run around 20 December each year and officially opens on 5 January. Avoid arriving too early; ideally visit after January or after Christmas. The best viewing time is in the evening, as the lighting effects are invisible during the day, and the ice sculptures are most beautiful when illuminated.
