About Fengjie Tiankeng Difeng (Heavenly Pit and Earth Fissure)

Known as “the number one pit under heaven,” the Tiankeng is one of the world's great natural pit-and-cave wonders. On the path down to the pit floor, you pass two houses and a grassy slope full of wildflowers, while a hanging spring plunges to the bottom and forms an underground river. The Tiankeng is shrouded in clouds and mist year-round, making visitors feel as though they are standing among the clouds.

The Earth Fissure lies about 8 km south of the Tiankeng and has two sections, upper and lower. The upper section is entered through the Tianjing Gorge on Daxiang Mountain in Xinglong Chang and is 3.5 km long. The lower section has not yet been fully explored. Some believe a roughly 6-km-long dark cave stretching from the floor of the Tiankeng to Maze Gorge is part of it.

Its Erfo Temple, cliff-carved Buddhist images, old temples, the Gu Weng City (ancient jar-shaped enclosure), the Ming-dynasty memorial archway, the Wenchang Palace opera stage, the Sheli Pagoda cluster, Diaoyu Fortress and the village houses are all ingeniously conceived and expertly built. Youyang Peach Blossom Land

There are two Peach Blossom Lands in the world: one in Tao Yuanming's essay, and one in Youyang, Chongqing. Youyang's Peach Blossom Land sits in the heart of the Wuling Mountains and condenses some of the most beautiful untouched scenery. When the peach trees are in bloom, the scenic area is covered in drifting petals. Along quiet stone paths, you pass one pavilion and terrace after another: the Tao Gong Shrine, the Taoyuan Stele Forest, fields and village houses. Everything seems almost identical to the scenes described in “The Peach Blossom Spring.” Main sights include Peach Blossom Land, Fuxi Cave, Youzhou Ancient City, Taigu Cave and Peach Blossom Land Square. Fuxi Cave, about 3 km long, features winding walkways, a deep underground river and colourful stalactites, making it especially striking.
