Taibai Mountain is the main peak of the Qinling Mountains. Its summit remains snow-covered all year round, glittering under the sunlight, which is how it earned the name “Taibai”, meaning “white and bright”. Taibai Mountain has many ancient structures, including 14 temples, 5 stone steles, 10 iron steles, more than 110 iron Buddha statues, 64 wooden sculptures, as well as iron bells and iron furnaces. “Snow on Taibai” is one of the Eight Scenes of Guanzhong. On the main peak of Taibai Mountain lie three large lakes, known as Grandpa Lake, Second Grandpa Lake and Third Grandpa Lake, with crystal-clear waters. Taibai Mountain National Forest Park is located in the Tangyu River valley on the northern slope of Taibai Mountain, 110 km from Xi'an. It has a recuperation hospital that can accommodate 2,000 bathers a day, as well as hundreds of guest rooms. Qianshan has been developed into a tourist area with good roads and beautiful scenery.
