About Miniature Museum
The Miniature Museum of Taipei is the first museum in Asia dedicated to collecting miniature art and the second largest miniature museum in the world. It houses more than 200 miniature art pieces from Taiwan and abroad. The exhibits are not only exquisite but also lifelike: even the smallest fittings, such as light bulbs and televisions, in the scaled-down buildings are fully functional.
“Rose Mansion” is the museum's crown jewel and the first large dollhouse brought over from the West. Another highlight is “Buckingham Palace.” This piece selects several of the most representative rooms of Buckingham Palace and uses miniature art techniques to recreate their opulent interior décor.
The smallest work in the museum is “Mine in a Tree,” built at a scale of 1:120. Besides the little train pulling ore carts out of the mine entrance, you can also see the office, the engineering department, the exploration department and even engineers at work. No detail has been overlooked.
