About Fengjia Night Market
A visit to Fengjia Night Market is all about two things: eating and queuing. It is the birthplace of many Taiwanese snacks. Octopus balls, crêpes, pepper buns and lazy shrimp, which are now popular across China, all originated here. The top pick is “Guan Zhi Lin Large Intestine Wrapped Small Intestine” at the entrance of Fengjia Road Lane 20. It is the most popular stall in the night market, costing NT$40 a serving and perfect for eating on the go.
Tips from the guidebook
- 1. Snack picks: large intestine wrapped small intestine, boneless fried chicken, Jackie Chan chicken cutlet, golden thief, sour and spicy fish balls, egg cake and pepper buns are all must-tries.
- 2. Palate cleansers: At the juice bar beside Guan Zhi Lin, try the white jade bitter melon lemonade. Its taste is light and sweet, and surprisingly not bitter at all. You can also buy some fruit. The vendor will cut the fruit you choose and pack it in a freshness bag for you, which is very convenient.
