Shi Family Compound in Yangliuqing
Zunmei Hall, the Shi family residence, is one of the “Eight Great Families” of Tianjin. It is the best-preserved and largest late-Qing residential complex in China. The film *To Live* and the TV series *Sunrise* were both filmed here. The compound hosts many folk activities, and the highlight is Yangliuqing New Year Painting. Drawing on classical figures and festive scenes, its simple, earthy style is popular locally. Leaving without buying a few New Year paintings would be a real pity.
