## About Yanyu Covered Corridor

The poetic name has a practical origin. Jiangnan households built covered porches in front of their doors to guard against inconvenient travel on rainy days. When every household had one, a corridor nearly one kilometre long ran through the town: the “Misty Rain Corridor.” It is at its most beautiful when the lights come on. Hundreds of large red lanterns hang high beneath the eaves, making the everyday life of the daytime even more splendid.
