## About Xining Wildlife Park

The zoo sits on Xishan (West Mountain) in Xining and enjoys beautiful scenery. Its greatest highlight is its population of animals native to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, such as snow leopards, Przewalski's gazelles, desert cats and wild yaks. These are rarely seen in zoos in other cities.
The wildlife park mainly consists of a herbivore area, a free-ranging predator area, a rare bird house and an aquarium. The aquarium charges a separate fee, but it is fairly small and not especially worth a visit. The most important part of the park is the free-ranging predator area, where a boardwalk allows visitors to observe the predators up close from above.
