- **Getting there:** 1. If you buy your ticket from the official Xidao Island flagship store, you can ride the free scenic area shuttle bus. It departs from Xiari Department Store (夏日百货) in Dadonghai at 8:30 every day, arriving at Golden Phoenix Hotel (金凤凰酒店) in Haiyue Square at about 9:00. It passes through the Sanya Bay hotel area between 9:00 and 9:20, reaches Xiaoqi Port (肖旗港) on Xidao Island at about 9:30, and returns along the same route from Xiaoqi Port pier at 16:30. 2. Near Xidao Island (bus stop). 3. From Sanya city centre, a taxi costs about ¥50 one way. 4. Ferry times to the island from the pier: first boat to the island at 8:00; last boat back from the island at 17:30.

## About Xidao Island Marine Culture Tourist Area

Off Sanya's southwest coast are two small islands facing each other. Because sea turtles were once abundant nearby, they are known as East Daimaozhou and West Daimaozhou. Xidao Island is West Daimaozhou. Its water visibility exceeds 10 metres, and it lies within Sanya's national coral reef protected area, making it a diving paradise. The island is home to Xidao Amusement World, Niuwang Island Ecological Park and Ximao Fishing Village. Xidao Amusement World offers a range of watersports, such as sea fishing and diving, and is very popular with visitors.
