## About Wenchang Pavilion

Wenchang Pavilion was built during the Wanli reign of the Ming dynasty as the Kuixing Tower of the Yangzhou Prefectural School, which is how it came to be called “Wenchang Pavilion.” From the top, you can take in the street scenes near and far. On festival nights, colored lanterns light up the tower and the streets below, making it one of the most scenic spots in downtown Yangzhou.

## Tips from the guidebook

- Best season: March to May. As the saying goes, “Go to Yangzhou in the misty days of March,” spring is the best time to explore the city.
