## About Tianshengqiao Waterfalls

The Tianshengqiao Waterfall Cluster lies on the east side of Baicaotuo, over 30 km southwest of the Fuping County seat in Baoding, and is only about four hours' drive from Beijing. It is the largest waterfall cluster in North China. The falls are concentrated in a valley connected to Baicaotuo, where nine large waterfalls link together, dropping from tens to hundreds of metres in a majestic, thundering display.
Baicaotuo rises to 2,144.5 metres, with towering peaks and lush green grassland. It is known as 'a hundred grasses, a hundred flowers, a hundred medicines.' The legend of 'The Precious Lotus Lantern' is said to have taken place at Liaodaobei Village on the western slope of Baicaotuo.

## Tips from the guidebook

- The waterfall cluster is only 48 km from Mount Wutai in Shanxi, so you can visit both in one trip.
