## About Silver Beach (Yintan)

Silver Beach stretches 24 km and is billed as “China’s No. 1 Beach”, with a sandy area larger than the combined beach areas of Beidaihe, Qingdao, Dalian, Yantai and Xiamen.
Mornings and evenings are when Silver Beach is at its most beautiful. Swimming, watching the sunrise or sunset, or strolling along the fine, soft sand is a pleasure in itself. Silver Beach is also known as Guangxi’s “football city”. It draws large crowds, so if you are after tranquillity, it may not be your first choice.

## Tips from the guidebook

- How to Enjoy Silver Beach
- 1. Umbrellas and double tents are available for rent on the sand.
- 2. Agree on the price of motorboat rides on the beach before setting off.
- 3. Internet cafés here charge ¥3–5 per hour.
- 4. Silver Beach is vast. To cover all of it, get off at the West Gate stop, explore from west to east, and return directly from the terminus to avoid backtracking.
- 5. Avoid the seafood sold near the beach. The barbecue and late-night snacks along Changqing Road are good, and the eateries on West Beibu Road are reasonably priced.
