## About Shiziwo

Legend says that when Manjushri passed through here, his green lion mount was so enchanted by the scenery that it refused to leave. Manjushri built a lair for it on the spot, which gave rise to Shiziwo Temple (狮子窝寺). In the temple courtyard stands a 13-storey octagonal glazed pagoda containing more than 11,000 glazed Buddha statues, which is why it is also called the "Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas" (万佛塔). It is an impressive sight.
