## About Shaoshan

Shaoshan is located within Xiangtan City. Its scenic countryside is home to many sites associated with Mao Zedong.
Mao Zedong's former residence is in Shangwuchang, Shaoshan Chong, and the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall is nearby. Other major sites in the area include the Mao Zedong Bronze Statue, the Mao Zedong Poetry Stele Forest, the Mao Zedong Relics Museum, the Shaoshan Martyrs' Cemetery, and Dishui Cave, a rural villa where Mao stayed during his return visit in 1966.
