## About Sanhuang Village Scenic Area

The travel writer Xu Xiake wrote: "Without reaching Sanhuang Village, one cannot call oneself a true Shaolin visitor." It is part of Mount Song Forest Park, and its main peak stands 1,512 metres above sea level, renowned for its natural beauty.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 1. Scenery: the finest views on Mount Song are at Sanhuang Village on Shaoshi Mountain. If you are not physically fit, skip Taishi Mountain and go to Sanhuang Village instead. Its scenery will not disappoint.
- 2. Saving money: hiring a local guide to take you in is a good way to save money.
