## About Saint Sophia Cathedral

One of the largest Orthodox churches in the Far East and a classic example of Byzantine architecture. The bell tower above the main entrance houses seven bronze bells. The building now serves as the Provincial Architecture Art Museum.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 1. Night visit: Under the lights after dark, the cathedral has a glow it lacks by day, so a night visit is recommended.
- 2. Interior: The interior looks somewhat worn, but its grandeur remains. The old photographs of Harbin on display in the exhibition hall give a vivid sense of the city's glorious past.
