## About Qionglai Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area

Legend says the mountain got its name because Yu the Great (大禹), while controlling floods in Shu, built an altar here to worship heaven. As a renowned religious mountain, it is home to Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism side by side. On the mountain is the Monks' Yamen (和尚衙门), one of the rare comprehensive institutions in China combining government administration with a dedicated court of law. The scenic area is known for its 'strange rocks, marvellous peaks, beautiful waters and secluded forests.'
