## About Qiandeng Ancient Town

With a history of more than 2,500 years, Qiandeng is the hometown of the renowned scholar Gu Yanwu and the birthplace of Kunqu opera and Jiangnan silk-and-bamboo music. The town preserves the Yu Family Pawnshop, known as 'China's First Pawnshop'; the longest and best-preserved Ming and Qing flagstone streets in Jiangsu Province; and the world's largest jade reclining Buddha, which is listed in the Guinness World Records. At the Gu Jian Memorial Hall, Jiangnan silk-and-bamboo music performances are staged from time to time.
