## About Puji Temple

Puji Temple, together with Fayu Temple and Huiji Temple, is known as one of the three great temples, and it is one of the most incense-filled temples on the mountain. Its beauty is best appreciated with Haiyin Pond (Sea Seal Pond) as a backdrop: the pond is home to many red carp, and in summer the lotus flowers bloom, which is especially lovely.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 1. Look at the imperial stele at Puji Temple: the front gate houses an imperial stele pavilion, and the stele bears an inscription by the Qing Emperor Yongzheng recording the founding of Puji Temple and the history of Mount Putuo.
- 2. Suggested route if you hire a car for the day: ① take the cable car up to Huiji Temple; ② from Huiji Temple, take the cable car back down and visit Fayu Temple; ③ visit Puji Temple; ④ visit Zizhu Lin to see the Guanyin of the South Sea; ⑤ return to the pier or your hotel.
