## About Nine-Dragon Wall

Datong’s Nine-Dragon Screen Wall is the longest of the three surviving “nine-dragon walls” in China. It originally stood in front of the palace of Zhu Gui, Prince of Dai (a son of Zhu Yuanzhang, founder of the Ming dynasty). The central dragon, in particular, showcases the superb carving skills of ancient China and is well worth seeing.

## Tips from the guidebook

- The original Prince of Dai’s Palace was destroyed in war long ago. The palace you see today is a reconstruction, admission is quite expensive, and its performances receive mixed reviews.
