## About Mingsha Mountain

The Tashui and Liutiao rivers wind along both sides of Mingsha Mountain in Hami. Standing at the Tianshan Temple, you can take in the whole view. When you lie still on the sand, the wind shifts the dunes and the sand sings, its sound soft and mournful, like a flute or xiao, plaintive and winding. When visitors go sand-sliding, the grains tumble and roll downward, rubbing against each other and making the sound waves vibrate, so the sand rumbles like an airplane passing overhead.
