## About Mawangdui Han Tombs Site

In 1972 and 1973, the Mawangdui Han Tombs yielded, one after another, a Western Han female body, silk gauze chanyi, and a large number of lacquerware, pottery, weapons, musical instruments, wooden figurines, silk textiles, painted silk banners and silk manuscripts. The discovery of these exquisite artifacts caused a worldwide sensation. Today, they are preserved at Hunan Provincial Museum, and travellers interested in cultural relics can go and see them there.
