## About Luyuanping Scenic Area

Hidden in a rift valley between the Liuliao and Zhongjian rivers lies an undeveloped and beautiful place called Luyuanping. Surrounded by sheer cliffs, its mountains, waters, forests, fields, roads and farmhouses have all remained in their natural state, thanks to the area’s unique terrain.

## Tips from the guidebook

- Luyuanping is tucked away in the Enshi Grand Canyon and is an isolated, primitive village. To get there, you need to descend more than 1,500 steps into the valley. The scenery is beautiful, the locals are simple and friendly, and the atmosphere is serene. It is a true “Shangri-La.”
