- **Getting there:** Self-drive from downtown Zhangye via the S213 Zhangsu Highway to the Yukang Highway entrance in Kangle Township, about 52 km in total (about 1.5 hours); or take a bus from Zhangye Bus Station to Sunan County and then charter a car to get there
- **By car:** From Zhangye city, follow Provincial Highway 213 to Yumuzhuang Village (榆木庄村) in Kangle Township (康乐乡). At the junction of the Yu-Kang Road and Provincial Highway 213, follow the signs by the roadside into the scenic area.

## About Kangle Grassland

The area includes the Danxia geological scenic zone, Kanglong Temple, the Machang Tan grassland, snow-mountain adventure tourism and more. In spring and summer the grassland is green as a carpet; in autumn wild fruit hangs heavy on the branches; in deep winter the snow lies white and the scenery is magnificent. Every July, herders in festive dress gather here from all directions for a grassland festival, with spectacular horse racing, wrestling, archery and other performances.
