## About Jiuzhangya Cliff

A sight rarely seen in China: sheer cliffs about 70 metres high, some sections steeper than 90 degrees. In the early evening, you can bring a small bucket and go tide-pool foraging here.

### One-line recommendation

Yantai Mountain Scenic Area: named after the beacon towers set up in the early Ming dynasty to guard against Japanese pirates. Later, when the British built a navigation lighthouse here, it became a symbol of Yantai city.
