## About Jiaxiu Tower

'For five hundred years it has firmly held the Ao Islet, alone supporting the vault of heaven; let me climb one more storey and my boundless view opens wide…' Qing scholar Liu Yushan wrote this long couplet, which rivals the famous 'Number One Couplet under Heaven' and stands out among the countless praises of literati. Thus, although Jiaxiu Tower has been burned and rebuilt several times, it still bears the weight of history and is a landmark of Guiyang.
To appreciate the beauty of Jiaxiu Tower, sit on one of its clean benches, share a pot of tea with the locals, chat about everyday life and experience the rhythm of city life against this historical backdrop.
