## About Humble Administrator's Garden

One of Suzhou's four famous classical gardens and its largest, the Humble Administrator's Garden is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List and is considered a classic of Chinese private gardens. Its design is water-centred, natural and elegant, with staggered courtyards and abundant flowers and trees, full of poetic charm and the distinctive character of the Jiangnan water town. It perfectly showcases the depth and breadth of Chinese classical garden art.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 1. Listening in: Every scene in the garden has its own story. Rent an electronic audio guide at the entrance, or follow a tour group through the garden.
- 2. Shopping: Along Dongbei Street outside the entrance, there are many shops selling Suzhou embroidery and other local handicrafts. Prices are negotiable, so your bargaining skills will matter.
- 3. Flower shows: From April to October, azalea and lotus flower shows are held.
