## About Huishan Ancient Town

The current Huishan Ancient Town scenic area was formed by merging the former Xihui Park with the Huishan Historic and Cultural Block. It contains many ancient sites and beautiful mountains, waters, forests and springs, with over 200 scenic and historic spots.
The spring inside Xihui Park has long been known as the “Second Spring Under Heaven” (天下第二泉), a title bestowed by Lu Yu, the ancient tea connoisseur. The folk musician Blind A Bing (阿炳), who composed and performed “Reflections on the Moon over the Second Spring” (二泉映月), is also connected to it. Today, visiting the “Second Spring Under Heaven” is mostly a matter of admiring its reputation. A photo will do.
Huishan Ancient Town is made up of a large cluster of ancestral halls in typical Jiangnan style, with white walls, black tiles and wooden doors and windows, some with private gardens. The town has excellent Wuxi clay figurines as souvenirs, along with signature snacks such as flaky oil-crisp pastries (油酥饼), Huishan tofu pudding (惠山豆腐花), Yiqinyuan xiaolongbao (忆秦园小笼包) and crab-roe xiaolongbao (蟹粉小笼), so you can eat while you browse.
