## About Hongshan Forest Zoo

Hongshan Forest Zoo is one of the most distinctive zoos in China, with unique forest landscapes, rich animal resources, and a variety of themes. It was also one of the first zoos in China to stop animal performances. Signs and information boards throughout the zoo use hand-drawn illustrations to introduce each animal’s name, personality, interests, habits, and stories, showing respect for life at every turn.

## Tips from the guidebook

- Hongshan Forest Zoo is built into the hills and has three mountains within its grounds, so be prepared for some climbing.
