## About Hanpokou (Hanpo Pass)

Two mountains face each other across a vast gorge, as if they could drain Poyang Lake in one gulp, which makes for an impressive sight. When the sun rises from the lake surface, everything around is bathed in dazzling red light, and no one can fail to be awed by the spectacle.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 1. The richly carved and painted pavilion on the Hanpokou hilltop is the ideal place to watch the sunrise. It is called Wangpo Pavilion.
- 2. If you stay in Guling Town and want to reach Wangpo Pavilion for sunrise, you will need the determination to get up early.
- 3. It is 2–2.5 km from Huanglong Pool to here.
