## About Great Bao'en Temple Heritage Park

Great Bao’en Temple was the first Buddhist temple established in southern China. In 2008, an underground palace at the temple site yielded the Buddha’s finger bone relic, the Seven-Treasure Ashoka Stupa, and many other cultural relics that shocked the world and the Buddhist community. A museum was then built on the site to showcase Buddhist culture and the past and present of Great Bao’en Temple. In 2015, the Glazed Pagoda of Great Bao’en Temple was rebuilt. Although it uses a modern steel frame clad in glass, its glazed radiance can still be evoked through lighting, giving a dreamlike effect.
