## About Ganquan Grand Canyon

Ganquan Grand Canyon is known as 'China's Antelope Valley.' Hundreds of millions of years ago, powerful earthquakes split the mountains apart, forming a huge fissure. Over millions of years of shaping by wind, water and time, it slowly developed into this fantastical canyon landscape. Ganquan Grand Canyon comprises several scenic areas, including Huashugou (Birch Gully), Huabao Gully, Longba Gully, Mudan Gully and Yixiantian (One Line Sky), each with its own character. Birch Gully is especially striking. Within the canyon, flowing lines of curves and straight edges interweave, and the shifting light and shadow create breathtaking views. Everything appears simple, harmonious and natural, leaving visitors in awe of nature's handiwork.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 1. After rain, the paths inside the gullies become muddy and hard to walk on. Bring rain boots in advance or rent them at the scenic area.
- 2. Light has a major effect on canyon scenery, so be sure to choose good weather for your visit to see the most beautiful views.
