## About Eling Park

Eling was originally called Ezhou Ridge (鹅项岭). It lies on a steep, narrow ridge with the Yangtze and Jialing rivers flowing past on either side, and its name comes from its resemblance to a goose’s neck. It was Chongqing’s earliest private garden and the villa of Li Yaoting, the first chairman of the Chongqing Chamber of Commerce in the late Qing dynasty. Eling Park stands with its back to the mountain city, at the highest point of the Chongqing peninsula, rising high above the rest. Climb Kansheng Tower (瞰胜楼) to take in the scenery of both rivers, and at night watch the sea of lights, which is especially memorable.
