## About Chongqing Huguang Guild Hall

Built in 1759, Huguang Guild Hall is a representative example of southern architectural art from the Ming and Qing dynasties and the largest surviving ancient guild hall complex in China. It contains four opera stages, belonging to the Guangdong, Jiangnan, Lianghu and Jiangxi guild halls. The entire complex is adorned with carved beams and painted rafters, with lifelike motifs depicting characters and stories from Journey to the West and The Romance of the Western Chamber.
