## About Century Avenue and Century Park

Century Avenue runs from the Oriental Pearl Tower in the west to Century Park in Pudong in the east. It stretches 5.5 kilometres and is 100 metres wide, making it China's first landscaped road and earning it the nickname "the Champs-Élysées of the East." Century Avenue is asymmetrically laid out, with its centre line shifted 10 metres to the south.
At its eastern end, Century Park covers 140.3 hectares and is Shanghai's largest urban ecological park with natural features. The park has expansive lawns, forests and lakes, as well as a bird sanctuary, an open-air music plaza, a large water fountain, large sculptures, the Century Flower Clock and forest streams.

## Tips from the guidebook

- Bonus stop: Century Park is served by two Metro Line 2 stations, Yanggao South Road and Century Park. The park borders Century Square and the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum to its north, so you can visit them together.
