## About Beitou Hot Springs

Beitou is known as the “Hot Spring Town.” Here you can set aside the fatigue of your journey, soak in open-air hot spring pools wrapped in rising clouds of steam, and enjoy the leisurely pleasure of a bath.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 1. Special MRT train: The outside of the MRT cars running from Beitou to New Beitou Station is covered in graffiti. Inside, the LCD touchscreens are styled like wooden bathtubs, and the TV loops documentaries about the Beitou hot spring area, helping you get into the mood for a soak right away.
- 2. Tranquillity: Beitou has no tour groups, so it is very quiet and ideal for a couple to stroll slowly, stopping and starting as they please.
- 3. Bike rental: Take the MRT from Tamsui Station to Guandu Station. Once you exit, you will find small shops renting bicycles. From Guandu you can ride along the Tamsui River all the way to Tamsui Old Street.
- 4. Unassuming fountain: Located in Beitou Park, this is where the two leads first meet in the film “Turn Left, Turn Right.”
- 5. Geothermal Valley: This is the source of Beitou's hot springs, and the two sites are very close together. The hot spring eggs here are famous.
