## About Baoguang Temple

Xindu's Baoguang Temple is one of the four great Buddhist temples in southern China. The Hall of Arhats preserves 500 painted and gilded arhat statues, each lifelike and distinct, with no two alike. The temple also houses a precious reliquary pagoda.
The East Garden of Baoguang Temple holds many works by famous artists, including Xu Beihong's largest single-horse painting, Zhang Daqian's painting of Guanyin, calligraphy by Yu Youren, and paintings by Zhu Chan.

## Tips from the guidebook

- 2. Food: At Baoguang Temple, visitors can sample vegetarian Buddhist cuisine, and at Guihu Lake they can try lotus leaf congee.
