- **Day 2:** Ming and Qing Palace Gardens → Guangzhou Street

## The feel of the place

## The feel of the place

### Watching Shows

Qin Palace, Qingming Shanghe Tu, Ming-Qing Palace Complex, Guangzhou Street, Hong Kong Street, and Dream Valley all stage multiple performances every day (check the Hengdian scenic area's official website for specific showtimes). Visiting in one day is enough to admire the architecture, but the shows are what make the ticket worthwhile. It is recommended to stay two days to enjoy the performances at each scenic area.

### Preparation and Information

### Language

Hengdian belongs to Dongyang City, and the local dialect is Dongyang dialect. However, because film crews have been shooting here year-round and many extras come from all over the country, you will hear dialects from every corner of China.

### Climate and Best Time to Visit

Hengdian has distinct four seasons. Spring and autumn are comfortable, while summer is hot. The best time to visit is March to November. In January, the weather is cold and Dream Valley enters a seasonal closure. Of course, if you are visiting for a favourite idol, your timing will depend on when that star is filming.

## Getting there & around

### Getting There

### By Air

Hengdian has no airport. Travellers can fly to Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou, from which shuttle buses run directly to Hengdian. There are 11 buses a day, with a fare of ¥75. The Hangzhou–Wenzhou High-Speed Railway, currently under construction, will be 331 km long. Once completed, Hengdian will enter the high-speed rail era. According to media reports, Hengdian High-Speed Railway Station is expected to open in the second half of 2024.

There are also many barbecue restaurants and street food stalls favoured by celebrities. In short, Hengdian has countless delicious foods waiting for you.

## Shopping

Each Hengdian scenic area has its own specialty shopping street, such as the Hengdian Old Street in Dream Valley, the Underground Imperial City at Qin Palace, the Dasong Fang commercial street inside the Qingming Shanghe Tu scenic area, and the foreign goods street on Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street. The most bustling shopping street outside the scenic areas is Wansheng Street, which has all kinds of shops as well as local street food.

## Where to stay

Hengdian has hotels in every category, from four-star hotels to youth hostels, catering to all types of travellers. However, hotel prices vary between weekdays and weekends or holidays. Generally, weekend prices rise by 15–20%. During national public holidays, when visitor numbers are especially high, accommodation costs rise even further, and rooms can sometimes be fully booked. It is therefore best to reserve your room in advance.

### Transport Within the Scenic Area

- **Xinghe Hotel** — Affiliated with Hengdian World Studios, with convenient transport but average facilities. (88 Wansheng North Street, 0579-86011188/86547271)
- **Wenzhou Overseas Travel Company** —
