## Über Qionglai Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area

According to legend, the mountain takes its name from Da Yu (the Great Yu), who set up an altar here to offer sacrifices to Heaven while he was taming the floods in Shu. As a religious mountain, Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism coexist here. On the mountain, the Monks' Yamen (Heshang Yamen) is one of the rare institutions in China that combines government administration with a dedicated court of law. The scenery within the mountain is renowned for its "marvellous mountains, strange rocks, beautiful waters and secluded forests".
